Three Tulips

Published:

Let’s Singalongamax (Vol. 4)

… Wunderbar! C’est Si Bon! What A Wonderful World! In A Little Spanish 福島県 Town:

A black and white photograph of three tulips. One has a very white head. The other two are pale red. They are in the bottom right third of the frame and stand proud in front of the thick pole that supports electric wires (we don’t dig holes and bury our electricity in Japan) and fills most of the top right two thirds of the frame. Surrounding the tulips throughout the bottom third of the frame are green fronds of a plant I know not its name. They grow fast as they are overwhelming the green stalks of unflowering tulips to the left hand side of the frame. Trust me, the photo works well in black and white, there is plenty of contrast in play, so reading/being read this does allow you chance to understand the original colouring I assume. However, if you’ve never even seen these colours how does one go about explaining them? I really need to understand this much more. Feel free to drop me a message with any ideas. Anyway, back to the frame. Finishing off the photograph is the concrete blocks of a wall. The contract really brings out the rough texture of these blocks - they’re not something you want to rub your skin against. This was taken in early May 2025 and within a few days of taking the shot the green frondy things had doubled in height consuming the tulips along with most else.
