“Toto… I have a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore… but there still be oil! Daihatsu Mira Turbo Oil to be exact.”

A black and white photograph of a dustpan, an old tin of oil and the bristles of a broom. These three objects can be found inside a three-sided concrete block structure: The dustpan in the opening of the three sided structure, the broom bristles (top middle of the frame) are in the left corner of the structure hanging ominously above the oil tin which fits tightly into that same corner on the floor. There is light coming in from the left hand side of the photograph but the oil tin and the broom bristles are still somewhat shaded. The dustpan is in full light - bottom left of the photograph. The dustpan is upturned? Why? And where is its brush? The bristles of the broom are large and would suggest a long handle based means of use. Sure you could do the initial sweeping with those bristles but it will take a little work to then use the same broom to deposit the swept dust into the dustpan. As for the tin of oil it’s real specific: Daihatsu Mira Turbo Oil. The Mira was in production from 1980 until 2018, so that is an old tin cowering in the corner. The whole scene is very tidy (and free of dust) so I guess that some of the items have been used recently. However, the oil tin looks trapped, unused and forgotten. Have the dustpan and broom bristles been ganging up on it? Do we have a Mexican standoff in progress?
